Kenyan agri-tech startup Lentera expands through a distributor partnership to Mauritius

After a collaboration with the Mauritius Chemical and Fertiliser Industry (MCFI), a fertiliser producer, Kenyan agri-tech startup Lentera, which develops climate-smart solutions for African farmers, has expanded to Mauritius.

Lentera was founded in 2017 and offers precision farming services, including farm tools, weather sensors, drone and satellite imagery, as well as automated market conditions advisory services.

The startup, which signed a working capital financing facility with the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) late last year to allow it to provide climate-smart farming solutions to more farmers while pursuing equity investment, has now partnered with MCFI in a deal that will see it providing satellite-based crop health analysis and crop modeling services to Mauritian customers of MCFI.
